Jennifer Castner

Jennifer Castner directs The Altai Project, a non-profit organization founded in 1998 that supports and partners with activists, researchers, and experts to protect natural landscapes and wildlife and support Indigenous peoples and traditional lifeways in and around Eurasia. An environmentalist, community ally, and coalition builder, she has had close ties with the environmental justice and indigenous rights movements in Russia since 2002 and more recently in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Ukraine. She has raised over $1.75 million of direct support for grassroots activism, protected areas, and conservation biology in those countries. She lives in Michigan, USA.
